Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block of Halloumi cheese (approximately 250g)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Slice the Halloumi into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon zest, oregano, and black pepper.
- Brush each Halloumi slice with the oil mixture on both sides.
- Grill the Halloumi for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and grill marks appear.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- Halloumi cheese can be salty, so there’s no need to add extra salt.
- Serve as an appetizer, in a salad, or as a delicious side dish.
- Be careful not to overcook, as Halloumi can become rubbery if left on the grill too long.
